Manchester City are readying a £70m move for Atletico Madrid start Antoine Griezmann, reports the Sunday Mirror.
City are keen to bolster their attack at the end of the season, with reports suggesting Sergio Aguero could be sold to fund a deal for the Frenchman.
Atletico are reluctant to cashing in on their star striker, but they fear they could lose Griezmann at the end of the campaign.
City currently lead the way to secure his services, but would face stiff competition from Manchester United are Chelsea in the race to sign the 25-year-old.
Griezmann’s current deal runs until 2021, so the La Liga title contenders are under no pressure to sell the France international, but know that an offer of £70m and upwards would be difficult to turn down.
The striker has been hugely impressive for Atletico once more this term, netting six league goals, a return bettered only by Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez (both 7).
