Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac has cooled talk linking him with a move to Liverpool and insists he wants to renew his contract with the Bundesliga outfit.
Kolasinac, 22, is the latest Bundesliga player to have been linked with a move to Liverpool since Jurgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers in October with wholesale changes expected at Anfield over the summer.
However, the Bosnia international, who has just over 12 months remaining on his current deal, has played down talk of a switch to Liverpool and wants to commit his long-term future to Schalke.
“At Schalke I found a second home and my desire is to renew the contract,” Kolasinac told Sky Deutschland, via TalkSPORT.
Kolasinac hasn’t managed to establish a regular spot in the starting XI since his breakthrough campaign in 2012 and he has been limited to just 14 starts in the league this term. Nevertheless, only two Schalke players have won more aerial duels per game in the Bundesliga than Kolasinac this season (2.4).
