Wolves on verge of signing AC Milan striker

AC Milan striker Patrick Cutrone has left the club’s pre-season training camp in the United States to complete a permanent move to Premier League side Wolves, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.

Wolves have reportedly agreed a deal worth as much as €25m (£22.5m) deal with Milan and the Italy international will pen a five-year deal subject to a medical.

Cutrone has spent his entire career at Milan but is free to leave the Serie A outfit as they seek to overhaul their offensive options for the new campaign.

The 21-year-old is not the only forward expected to leave Marco Giampaolo’s side this summer, with Andre Silva and Suso also heavily linked with moves away.

Milan are reportedly on the verge of signing Lille forward Rafael Leao in a €35m (£31.5m) deal as Cutrone’s replacement.

Wolves are yet to make a single signing this summer, having only made Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker’s loan moves permanent from last season.

Wolves’ season is already underway after kickstarting their Europa League campaign in midweek, though they are on the cusp of signing Real Madrid centre-back Jesue Vallejo on a season-long loan deal.

Cutrone netted 10 league goals in his breakthrough campaign for Milan in 2017/18 but netted just three times in 34 league appearances last term.
