Swansea have approached Hull about potentially signing Sam Clucas, reports Sky Sports.
Paul Clement has £45m to spend on new players before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month after Gylfi Sigurdsson completed a move to Everton on Wednesday.
The Swansea head coach is targeting a number of signings and has already earmarked players like Nacer Chadli and Wilfried Bony as potential arrivals this month.
Clement was hopeful of bringing Joe Allen back to the Liberty Stadium, but the fact the club have now approached Hull for Clucas would suggest that ship has sailed for the Stoke midfielder.
Clucas has already received interest from Burnley this week, but they now face stiff competition from their Premier League rivals.
Hull rejected a £10m bid from Burnley and a bidding war between Burnley and Swansea will only benefit the Tigers in gaining a higher fee.
The 26-year-old only missed one Premier League game for Hull last season and made at least 36 more tackles than any other team-mate (90).
