Burnley announce arrival of Joe Hart from Manchester City

Burnley have announced the arrival of Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart on an initial two-year deal.

Sean Dyche has sounded out the experience of Hart after only being left with one senior goalkeeper for the new season.

Burnley have been forced into action in the transfer window following injuries to Tom Heaton and Nick Pope.

The Clarets have reportedly paid in the region of £4m to sign Hart from City, ending his 12-year affiliation with the Premier League champions.

Hart was deemed surplus to requirements by Pep Guardiola two years ago and was forced to find regular playing time at Torino and West Ham.

Neither loan stints were successful and City have been forced to let the 31-year-old leave for a cut-price deal after entering the final 12 months of his contract.

"Burnley Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Joe Hart as they add to the international pedigree at Turf Moor," a statement read on the club's official website.

"The England goalkeeper has joined the Clarets for an undisclosed fee on an initial two-year contract after ending his trophy-laden 12-year stay at Manchester City."

Hart is second signing Burnley have made this summer following the joint-club record arrival of Ben Gibson from Middlesbrough over the weekend.

Hart made as many errors that led to an opposition goal than he did clean sheets in the Premier League last season (4).
