Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette is a rumoured target for La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid, reports Spanish publication Marca.
Arsenal were heavily linked with a move for the France international last summer, though were priced out of a move for the striker, which saw any move fail to materialise.
He is widely expected to leave Lyon at the end of the season following another blistering campaign for the French outfit, having bagged 22 league goals this season.
Indeed, his conversion rate (30.1%) is the best of the 56 players to score 10 or more goals in Europe’s top five leagues this season, increasing the list of admirers in the process.
Atletico will now make a move for the 25-year-old, provided their current transfer ban is lifted, thus allowing them to sign players in the summer.
With Antoine Griezmann strongly linked with a move away from the Calderon, Atletico would need a replacement for the France international and with the sufficient funds, could blow any rival for Lacazette’s signature out of the water.
Arsenal would likely return for Lacazette if they are forced into selling Alexis Sanchez this summer, while a number of Europe’s top teams are also keen on the Lyon star.
