Andrea Conti will undergo his AC Milan medical on Tuesday after Vincenzo Montella’s side made a breakthrough in negotiations with Atalanta, reports SportItalia, via Football Italia.
Milan have already signed Franck Kessie from Atalanta this summer and are poised to complete their second raid of the club with the €22m (£19.3m) arrival of Conti.
The 23-year-old has been pushing for a move to San Siro since the end of last season and will reportedly undergo his medical with Milan on Tuesday after returning from the U21 European Championships with Italy.
As well as the arrival of Kessie, Milan have also signed Fabio Borini, Ricardo Rodriguez, Andre Silva and Mateo Musacchio this summer. With Bayer Leverkusen’s Hakan Calhanoglu also on the verge of joining, the Serie A giants could end up spending more than £100m in this transfer window.
Conti, who is naturally a right wing-back, played a direct hand in 13 goals in 33 appearances for Atalanta last season. In fact, no defender scored more goals in Serie A than Conti (8).
