Tianjin Quanjian make £38m bid for Leicester frontman

Leicester City have received a staggering £38m bid for club record signing Islam Slimani from Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Quanjian, according to Sky Sports.

Slimani, 28, joined Leicester in the summer in a deal worth £30m from Portuguese giants Sporting but has underwhelmed in what has been a really difficult season for the Foxes.

The Chinese Super League outfit have already been linked with Chelsea striker Diego Costa this month and are now willing to offer Slimani £300,000-a-week to join Fabi Canavarro’s squad ahead of their upcoming campaign that starts in March.

However, Leicester have no interest in selling their record signing and hope the Algeria international can fire them to Premier League safety when he recovers from an injury he picked up on Africa Cup of Nations duty.

Leicester are also still in the Champions League and Slimani will be an important part of any success they are to have against Sevilla in the next stage of the competition.

Only Michail Antonio (6) and Salomon Rondon (5) have scored more headers in the Premier League this season than Slimani (4).
