Arsenal fear key midfielder could reject mouth-watering new deal

Arsenal are growing increasingly concerned that Mesut Ozil will turn down a £200,000-a-week contract offer currently on the table, reports The Daily Mail.

Ozil, 28, will have 12 months remaining on his existing deal in the summer and there is a growing fear the Germany international will force a move away from the club this summer.

The Germany international has already revealed his future is not solely down to wage demands and that he wants to know whether Arsene Wenger will remain at the club before committing to a new deal.

However, there is a growing acceptance that Wenger could walk away from Arsenal at the end of the season and turn down the two-year deal the club have offered him.

Ozil is not the only Arsenal player that could be leaving the club this summer with Alexis Sanchez also expected to leave. The former Barcelona forward is also stalling on a fresh deal and will also have 12 months remaining on his contract in the end of the summer.

While Arsenal risk losing two of their best players, the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere are still waiting to hear whether the club will offer them new deals and summer signing Lucas Perez is also unhappy and wants out of the club.

In the last three Premier League campaigns only Cesc Fabregas (32) has registered more assists than Ozil (28).
