West Ham are on the verge of handing manager Slaven Bilic a new contract after overseeing their slump in form and steering them clear of the bottom three, according to Sky Sports.
Bilic, 48, has 15 months remaining on the three-year deal he penned when he was made Sam Allardyce’s successor in June 2015 but now looks poised to extend his stay at the London Stadium.
The Hammers were looking to hand Bilic a new deal before Christmas but talks were shelved following the club’s alarming slump in form that had led to speculation suggesting he was close to being sacked.
However, West Ham are now inside the top 10 after winning six of their last 11 matches in the Premier League and the club are keen to extend Bilic’s stay and give next season a proper go in what would be their second year in their new stadium.
Since December 13th only five teams have won more points in the Premier League than West Ham (20), with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool below them in that period.
