Mourinho keen to bring Arsenal creator to Manchester United
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is eyeing up a sensational swoop for Arsenal creator in chief Mesut Ozil, reports the Sunday Mirror.
The pair worked wonders together during their time at Real Madrid and United boss Mourinho is looking to lure him to Old Trafford in the summer.
Ozil’s future at the Emirates Stadium is up in the air heading towards the end of the season, with his contract expiring in June 2018.
The Germany international has shown little that he is prepared to extend his stay in north London and the Gunners run the risk of losing him on a free if he does not pen a new deal.
Mourinho enjoyed a good relationship with the attacker before he was to Arsenal in 2013, with the 28-year-old a crucial player under the Portuguese manager.
Ozil’s form has dipped this term, but Mourinho believes he can get the best out of the midfielder should they link up at Old Trafford.
Such a move would spark a furious reaction from the Arsenal faithful, who saw the club sell Robin van Persie to United and the Dutchman then fire United to the Premier League title.
