United eye Atletico ace as next big signing

Manchester United are already preparing to launch a huge bid to sign Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann next summer, according to The Daily Mirror.

Jose Mourinho has been a long-term admirer of Griezmann and has previously failed in bringing the France international to Chelsea.

The 25-year-old has been committed to Atletico but Mourinho is confident off bringing the striker to Old Trafford next summer when they will be able to offer Champions League football.

However, it would likely require United to break the world record for the second summer in succession after landing Paul Pogba in a £89m deal this time around. Pogba and Griezmann are close friends and the midfielder could even be used to convince the Atletico striker to make the switch.

In the last three La Liga campaigns only four players have scored more goals than Griezmann (44).
