Everton are weighing up a £2m bid for Ajax full-back Ricardo van Rhijn, according to The Sunday Mirror.
The Toffees had been closing in on Leeds United defender Sam Byram before West Ham’s late interest scuppered their attempts to strengthen their defence.
Roberto Martinez is currently short of fully fit right-backs and is evidently keen on bolstering his options before the transfer window shuts next week.
The Netherlands international hasn’t featured for Ajax since the start of December and has only one league start to his name this season. Of players to have started at least twice in the Europa League this season, only two Ajax teammates have a higher pass success rate than Van Rhijn (87.4%).
