Barcelona emerge as shock suitors for Manchester United outcast

Barcelona are interested in handing Luke Shaw a route out of his Manchester United hell this summer, claims The Daily Mirror.

Shaw is widely expected to leave United at the end of the season after coming to blows with Jose Mourinho before the international break.

The England international has endured a nightmare spell at Old Trafford since Mourinho was appointed manager in 2016 and appears to be fighting a losing battle.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Everton are among the teams monitoring Shaw’s future at United but they could face shock competition from Barcelona.

The Spanish giants are reportedly on the market for a new left-back to provide competition with Jordi Alba and have identified Shaw as a potential target.

Their interest in Shaw would suggest that Lucas Digne, who joined Barcelona in July 2016, will move on at the end of the season.

Shaw has only made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, but United have not conceded a goal in his last 752 minutes on the pitch.
