Liverpool striker doesn’t want Anfield future

Mario Balotelli says he has no intentions of returning to Liverpool when his loan spell at AC Milan comes to an end at the end of the season.

The former Italy international has spent the campaign on loan back at Milan following a disastrous first-year at Liverpool last season.

Balotelli, 25, has struggled for form and fitness since making the return to Serie A and there isn’t any feeling that Milan will shell out and make his switch permanent at the end of the season.

The troublesome frontman would naturally be expected to return to his parent club, but Balotelli has revealed he has no intentions of returning to Liverpool in the summer.

“What I want is certainly to stay at Milan,” Balotelli told Mediaset Premium, via The Daily Mirror.

“I was not happy at Liverpool and I don’t want to go back there.

“I’ve been doing well in my last two games and there are another six for me to prove myself. I feel in good shape physically at last and am relaxed.”

Balotelli has made 17 appearances this season but only five have come as a starter. He hasn’t scored a league goal from open play since February 2016 (Liverpool vs Tottenham).
