Arsenal are poised to land Valencia centre back Shkodran Mustafi after agreeing a deal worth £35m, according to Sky Sports.
Arsene Wenger’s side could have signed Mustafi for as little as £21m earlier in the summer but their hesitation has allowed Valencia to drive the price up for the Germany international.
Mustafi is now due to undergo his medical with the Gunners bringing the curtain down on his two-year stint with Valencia.
Since August 2014 no player has made more interceptions in La Liga than Mustafi (228).
