Torino complete deal to sign Falque

Torino have announced they have exercised the right to make Iago Falque’s loan switch from Serie A rivals Roma permanent.

Falque, 27, joined Roma on an initial season-long loan deal in the summer in a double deal that also saw them sign Adem Ljajic from the Giallorossi for £7.1m.

The 27-year-old, who spent time at Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid as a child, finally looks to have found his feet at Torino after enduring the bulk of his career switching between clubs.

Falque has made a really promising start to the season with Torino and it has prompted Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side to make the deal permanent.

“We are extremely pleased to have acquired outright Iago Falque, so that we exercised the right of redemption with several months in advance to agreements made with Roma,” Urbano Cairo told the club’s official website.

“Iago, in addition to being a football player with important quality and can offer an excellent performance, is a bright guy who has immediately integrated into our group.

“On more than one occasion, even publicly, has expressed a desire to play in a team and in an environment congenial for him as well: his happiness is therefore ours.”
