Watford have confirmed the sacking of Javi Gracia, with the Hornets currently bottom of the Premier League table.
The 49-year-old took over at Vicarage Road in January 2018, and guided Watford to the FA Cup final, but a dire start to the season has seen the Spaniard relieved of his duties at the club.
“Watford Football Club confirms the departure of Head Coach Javi Gracia,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“Javi Gracia’s staff will also be leaving the club, ahead of the imminent appointment of a new coaching team.
“Everyone at the Hornets wishes Javi and his staff all the very best for the future, and they will always be welcome visitors in the future at Vicarage Road.”
Chairman and CEO Scott Duxbury said of his dismissal: “Javi has represented Watford with great dignity and will always be deserving of our fullest respect for his achievements.”
