Bournemouth have announced they have signed Chelsea defender Nathan Ake on a season-long loan deal.
Ake, 21, spent last season on loan at Watford and was one of the Hornets most impressive performers as they secured their Premier League survival at the turn of the year and got to the FA Cup semi final.
The Dutchman hasn’t even made half a dozen senior appearances for Chelsea in his five years contracted to the club and is now about to go on his third separate loan spell.
“We are delighted to welcome Nathan to AFC Bournemouth,” the club’s chief executive, Neil Blake, told Bournemouth’s official website.
“For a player of his age he already has great experience in the Premier League and we believe he will bring a lot to our squad.
“He is an international player with great pedigree, so we are really excited to have him join us for the upcoming season.”
Only Troy Deeney (7.28) secured a higher WhoScored rating for Watford in the Premier League last season than Ake (7.15). Furthermore, no Watford player averaged more tackles and interceptions per game more than Ake (6.5).
