Samir Nasri believes he has rediscovered his best form at Sevilla following his loan move from Manchester City.
The 29-year-old joined Sevilla on an initial season-long loan deal during the summer after watching the last few years of his career stagnant at City.
Nasri has since developed into an integral part of the Sevilla squad this season and the former France international believes he is back to his best in Spain.
“I hope I’ve returned to playing my best football. I know I feel very well, I have the confidence of the coach and this is my time to play,” Nasri told Marca.
“Last season I was six months out injured. I knew what I wanted was playing time and I have it here. I hope I can give to this club all the confidence they have given me. All that I want is to help the team and if I do so by scoring goals, that makes me happy.”
Sevilla manager Jorge Sampoali will be looking to the likes of Nasri to inspire his side to victory over Atletico Madrid on Sunday, in a clash between the La Liga’s top two. Sevilla haven’t beaten Atletico in any of their last six encounters and haven’t even scored in the any of the last four.
Nasri has scored in back in consecutive matches for the first time February 2015 and also secured the WhoScored man of the match in two of his last four appearances for Sevilla.
Against Dinamo Zagreb in midweek, only Xavi has attempted more passes in a Champions League game than Nasri (158) since 2006.
