West Ham have turned down the chance to sign former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie on a cut-price deal, according to The Daily Mail.
Van Persie, 32, is set to leave Fenerbahce this summer after just 12 months with the Turkish giants after falling out with the club.
The former United striker was prepared to almost half his weekly salary in order to complete a move to West Ham but that would still have made him one of their best-paid players on £100,000-a-week.
Despite failing to nail down a regular spot in the first team for Fenerbahce, Van Persie still finished as their top goalscorer in the Super Lig last season (16).
