Joe Hart confirms he will not return to Torino

Joe Hart has confirmed he will not return to Torino next season as he gears up to leave Manchester City on a permanent basis this summer.

The England international spent the season on loan at Torino after being deemed surplus to requirements by City manager Pep Guardiola last summer.

Guardiola sanctioned a £13.75m move for Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo to succeed Hart but the experienced Chile international’s struggles have forced the City head coach to re-address his goalkeeping situation once again.

However, rather than call Hart back from the cold City are on the verge of making Benfica ace Ederson the most expensive goalkeeper of all-time in a stunning £33m deal and Hart has confirmed a return to Torino is not on the cards.

“I really enjoyed it,” Hart told ESPN reflecting on his time in Italy. “I’m not going to come back [to Torino], but I had a good time.”

Hart seemed to settle well at Torino but became subject to several digs from club president Urbano Cairo, who was startled by the amount of glaring errors a goalkeeper of Hart’s stature made during his time in Serie A.

In fact, only Josip Posavec (7) committed more errors that directly led to an opposition goal in Serie A this season than Hart (5).
