Manchester United are considering using Marcus Rashford as bait to sign Federico Bernardeschi from Fiorentina, according to La Nazione, via Football Italia.
Rashford, 18, has been a revelation for United since bursting onto the scene with a brace against FC Midtylland in February and he has started in each of the following 10 matches since then.
The England Under-21 international has developed into a crucial cog in United’s new-look frontline but the Red Devils are reportedly weighing up a shock swap deal that would see him used as a makeweight for Fiorentina winger Bernardeschi.
According to the report, United have already submitted a €28m (£22.3m) bid for the 22-year-old. Bernardeschi, who is versatile enough to play in a variety of positions across midfield, could prove the creative spark that United have lacked this season.
In fact, no Fiorentina player has completed more accurate through balls than the Italy international in Serie A this season (7).
