Mesut Ozil has not signed a new Arsenal deal contrary to reports he has penned new terms, reports The Daily Mirror.
Reports had emerged Ozil had finally agreed new terms on a long-term contract and taken the No.10 jersey from Jack Wilshere, who is currently on loan at Bournemouth.
However, those reports now appear to be slightly premature but negotiations between the club and the players’ representatives are still on going.
The 27-year-old still has two years remaining on his existing £140,000-a-week deal but he is demanding towards £200,000-a-week in order to sign a long-term deal with Arsenal.
Since the start of last season Ozil has registered at least four more assists than any other player in the Premier League (19).
