Real Madrid to launch big money bid for Manchester United man
Real Madrid are set to launch a £70m bid for Manchester United midfield Paul Pogba, with the France international keen on a move to Spain, reports The Sunday Express.
Los Blancos head coach Zinedine Zidane has made it clear that he wants to bring compatriot Pogba to the Bernabeu, something they failed to do last summer.
However, Pogba is now expected to leave United in the off-season rather than extend his current deal at Old Trafford.
Pogba's contract runs until 2021, though there is the option of extending that by another year, which United may do to protect his value.
Indeed, United have been hoping to bring in at least £100m for Pogba, but that is likely to have dropped in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.
As such, Real Madrid believe a £70m off will be enough to convince United to sell the 27-year-old rather than risk losing him on a free.
The Spanish side will face competition for Pogba from Parisian outfit PSG and former side Juventus, yet Real Madrid are the frontrunners to secure his services.
Injuries have restricted Pogba to just seven Premier League appearances, and his last league start came all the way back in September in United's 1-1 draw with Arsenal.
