West Ham ready to ditch club-record signing after four months

West Ham are willing to sell club-record signing Mark Arnautovic in order to help back new manager David Moyes in the January transfer window, reports The Daily Mirror.

The Hammers lavished £25m on Arnautovic to sign the Austria international from Stoke over the summer but he has endured a nightmare start to life at the London Stadium.

Arnautovic, who reportedly pockets £100,000-a-week, has failed to make a positive impression at West Ham and the club are even willing to sell the 28-year-old if Moyes wants to strengthen elsewhere.

While Moyes has already revealed it’s too early to say whether new players are needed, the West Ham boss is reportedly a big admirer of Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter and may look to prise the Ireland international away from Dean Court in the New Year.

West Ham may also rekindle their interest in Sporting ace William Carvalho after failing to land the Portugal international in the summer, but that would be another expensive outlay for the Hammers.

Arnautovic has failed to score or assist in seven Premier League matches for West Ham this season, while he was also sent off against Southampton on his second appearance for the club.
