Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will move for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez in January after being alerted to two bids from unnamed sides, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Sanchez’s current Arsenal deal is due to expire at the end of the season and Guardiola was prepared to wait until then to reunite with the Chile international.
However, two unnamed teams are reportedly ready to launch a January move for the 28-year-old and that has forced Guardiola to accelerate his interest in the Arsenal No.7.
City failed to get a £60m deal over the line for Sanchez in the summer and Arsenal will only be able to command a fraction of that price in January when he will only have six months left to run on his current deal.
Guardiola’s side are currently eight points clear at the top of the Premier League and signing Sanchez would only reinforce their status as the best team in the division.
Sanchez has only scored four Premier League goals this season, but three of those have come in his last three appearances.
