Arsenal interested in Dutch striker dubbed next “Nistelrooy”

Arsenal have expressed an interest in AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen and have earmarked the Netherlands international as a summer transfer target, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Janssen, who has been dubbed the next Ruud van Nistelrooy, has taken the Eredivisie by storm this season at a AZ and his form in front of goal has seen already seen him linked with a move to Dutch giants Ajax.

The 21-year-old’s form in his breakthrough campaign has been good enough to force himself into Danny Blind’s Holland national team and he even scored on his full debut against England earlier this year.

Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott’s struggles up front has led Arsene Wenger to earmark signing a new striker as one of his top priorities this summer, with Juventus striker Alvaro Morata also a long-term target.
