Liverpool star set to miss Arsenal clash

Liverpool have been served a huge blow ahead of their massive clash with top-4 rivals Arsenal on Saturday with news Jordan Henderson will not be available for the home side.

Heavy bruising on his foot forced Henderson to miss his side’s shock 3-1 defeat to Leicester on Monday evening and Jurgen Klopp is unsure when he will have his captain back and available for first-team selection.

The Liverpool ace has escaped serious damage to his metatarsal, an injury that has ruled Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus out for the remainder of the season, but Klopp has conceded he is unlikely to return for their must win match against Arsenal.

“It looks like he will not be ready for Arsenal,” The Daily Mail quote Klopp as saying. “That’s how it looks but I’m not sure, we will see.”

Henderson has been in immense form for Liverpool this season and his teammates have struggled to control the midfield area when he has not been available.

That is not surprising when you consider Henderson averages (85.7) more passes per game than any other player in the Premier League this season, a hole that has proved too big to fill for the likes of Emre Can.

In fact, since the start of last season Liverpool have only managed to win 32% of their Premier League games without Henderson in the starting XI, compared to 56.4% success rate when he has been fit to start.
