Chelsea youngster admits frustrations

Baba Rahman admits he is frustrated by the way his Chelsea career has gone since joining over the summer.

The Ghana left-back has struggled to make any impact at the Blues, making just four appearances in the Premier League since joining Chelsea for an initial £14m from Bundesliga side Augsburg.

Chelsea have already ruled out sending Rahman out on loan for the remainder of the season, but the 21-year-old admits the last six months have been very frustrating for him.

“Of course it’s frustrating for any footballer to sit in the stands. It’s not something I’ve experienced a lot of,” Rahman told German magazine Bild.

“As a young player, of course, you have to get used to such a big club and a world-class league. For me the first half of the season was pretty okay but in the second half I really want to play more. Chelsea are one of the best clubs in the world.”

Rahman arrived to Stamford Bridge as an unknown quantity, but with a huge profile from his successes in Germany. In fact, no player completed more tackles in the Bundesliga last season than Rahman (109).
