Chelsea are prepared to make one last push to sign Declan Rice from West Ham, reports The Daily Mirror.
Blues boss Frank Lampard is a huge admirer of Rice and is looking to land the youngster before the transfer window closes next month.
West Ham have remained steadfast in their pursuit to keep Rice in east London and are adament that the England international won't leave this window.
Rice has started West Ham's two league matches this season, both of which ended in defeat at the hands of Newcastle and Arsenal, respectively.
However, the two losses haven't deterred Chelsea from remaining interested in Rice, who was on the Chelsea books between 2006 and 2014.
Any move for Rice could see Jorginho depart Stamford Bridge in the coming days, with Arsenal a surprise contender to land the Italian.
The Gunners are looking to add another midfielder to the ranks and have been credited with an interest in Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey and Lyon youngster Houssem Aouar.
Jorginho was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City while Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was at the Etihad Stadium and the Spaniard remains a huge admirer of the 28-year-old.
The Italy international has started Chelsea's two league matches this season, but missed a penalty in the 2-0 loss to Liverpool last weekend.
And it could be that he has made his last appearance for the Blues should Chelsea land Rice before October 5th.
