Bayern Munich want Chelsea starlet

Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi has emerged as a January transfer target for Bayern Munich, claims The Sun.

Hudson-Odoi is rated as one of Chelsea’s best academy graduates but has failed to break into Maurizio Sarri’s first-team plans.

The 18-year-old featured prominently for Chelsea in pre-season and looked primed for a breakout campaign after dazzling for the Blues.

However, the England Under-19 international has only managed 36 minutes playing time spread across two substitute appearances in the Europa League.

Hudson-Odoi will only have 18 months left to run on his existing Chelsea deal and the west London outfit race losing one of the best talents.

The teenage forward will not pledge his long-term future to Chelsea over fears of regular playing time and now Bayern are plotting a January move.

The Bundesliga has led the way by acquiring some of the best young English talent in the likes of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson.

Bayern are now looking to follow suit but could face competition from Juventus and Barcelona for Hudson-Odoi’s signature.

With Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery coming to the end of their careers, Bayern have made signing new wide players a top priority.
