Manchester City are set to reward Ederson with a new long-term deal, reports The Athletic.
Ederson's current contract isn't due to expire until the summer of 2025 but City want to top it up by a further three years.
Pep Guardiola's side paid £35m to sign Ederson from Benfica in 2017 and the Brazilian has been a huge part of their success since then.
Beyond effectively wanting to secure Ederson's future for the next eight seasons, City are hoping to extend contracts for a number of first-team players this summer.
By doing so it allows City to spread their annual costs over more years and makes extra room in their budget for big money signings.
With City willing to spend in excess of £200m to sign England duo Jack Grealish and Harry Kane this summer, they will need to be as creative as possible to accomodate both.
Ederson finished last season with at least three more clean sheets (19) than any other goalkeeper in the Premier League.
