Tottenham are interested in signing Palermo ace Franco Vazquez as Mauricio Pochettino looks to build a squad capable of competing in the Champions League next season, reports The Daily Mirror.
Vazquez, 27, who was born in Argentina, has spent the last four years with Serie A strugglers Palermo but is a player that should be available in the summer after Davide Ballardini’s side only just evaded relegation.
The Italy international has previously been linked with a move to Juventus where he would be reunited with former Palermo teammate Paulo Dybala.
No Italian to have featured in at least five appearances across Europe’s top five leagues this season finished with a higher WhoScored rating than Vazquez (7.51), finished the league campaign with eight goals and seven assists to his name.

At a glance, he appears to be a good fit for Poch's system, but I'm mostly hoping they add some CM depth behind Dembele/Dier, as lack of depth there is what did them in. Secondly, they need a backup striker with the skills to be a true target man.
