Liverpool want Naby Keita in this month

Liverpool will explore the possibility of accelerating Naby Keita’s move to Anfield this month, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Keita is scheduled to join Liverpool at the end of the season after Jurgen Klopp’s side agreed a £57m deal with RB Leipzig in the summer.

However, Liverpool now want to speed up his move to Anfield in the wake of Philippe Coutinho’s £147m departure to Barcelona.

Klopp’s side are even willing to pay Leipzig more money to prise Keita to Anfield this month but face an uphill battle to convince the Bundesliga side to free their star midfielder.

Leipzig are determined to keep hold of Keita until the end of the season to bolster their chances of qualifying for the Champions League for the second campaign running.

The Guinea international has failed to hit the heights of last season but is still the fourth highest WhoScored rated player in the Bundesliga this season (7.50).

Since the start of last season, Keita has completed at least 25 more dribbles than any other Bundesliga player (129).
