Roma are determined to sign Riyad Mahrez this summer and are readying a new offer closer to Leicester’s €40m (£36m) asking price for foreign clubs, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Mahrez has told Leicester he wants to leave this summer but Craig Shakespeare has already said that the Algeria international will only be allowed to join another club if they receive a suitable offer.
The Foxes have already turned down two bids from Roma this summer, with the latest in the region of €35m (£31.6m), but the Serie A giants are now preparing an offer they are confident will convince Shakespeare’s side to accept.
Leicester were hoping to hold out for nearer £50m for Mahrez this summer but have lowered his asking price for those interested from abroad and the 26-year-old has already confirmed he would like to speak with Roma.
