Jamie Vardy says it was easy to reject Arsenal and stay with Premier League champions Leicester City.
The Gunners put forward a £20m bid for the England international earlier in the summer which triggered the player’s release clause, with Arsenal hoping to wrap up the move prior to Euro 2016.
However, Vardy stalled over a deal and opted against leaving the King Power Stadium, instead penned a new four-year contract with Leicester.
In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Vardy has revealed he never held talks with Arsenal over a move to the capital, insisting he has “unfinished business” with the Foxes.
"It's not been put out there that I have always said the boys, the close-knit brotherhood, is unbelievable and for me, there's a lot of unfinished business here," he said.
"I feel that the club is only going one way and that is forward, that's why I want to be a part of it.
"It wasn't that big [the decision] when I think about it. It was quite easy and this is where I want to be."
Verdy’s teammate Riyad Mahrez has also been strongly linked with a move away from Leicester this summer, with Arsenal keen on the Algeria international.
The Leicester striker has since pleaded with Mahrez to opt against following N’Golo Kante out of the King Power Stadium exit and to instead stay with Vardy ahead of Leicester’s Champions League debut this coming campaign.
"I think everyone in the squad would want him here, playing with us, but that's nothing to do with us and it's down to Riyad and the club to sort out," Vardy added.
Vardy enjoyed an impressive season for Leicester, netting 24 league goals, a return bettered only by Tottenham’s Harry Kane (25).
