Sunderland have announced Duncan Watmore has put pen to paper on a new four-and-a-half year deal with the club.
Watmore, 21, scored his first goal for the England Under-21’s against Switzerland last week and has committed his long-term future to Sunderland after impressing when given the chance this season.
“Duncan is an exciting prospect and the kind of talent you want to see coming through at your club,” Sam Allardyce told Sunderland’s official website.
“He is a bright young man, he has a sensible head on his shoulders and if he continues to make the kind of progress we have seen this season, I am sure that he has a great future ahead of him."
No Sunderland player has required fewer minutes per successful dribble in the Premier League this season than Watmore (29.2 mins)

Ehm, because Sunderland supporters may want news about one of their young players? And he has one dribble per appearance, that's one start and four from the bench. It's true it's not a great metric, but the article does mention minutes per dribble, i.e. he has 5 dribbles in 146 minutes of play. It's a small sample, but it compares favourably with other young dribblers, like Martial (every 26.2 min.), Mahrez (21.6), Sterling (36), etc.
Come on, you can`t call him a dribbler ! He just barely reached one dribble a game...! Almost every defenseman has a better quote. And equally bad are his key passes ( 0,2) and shots on goal ( 0,4 )per game. Don`t understand why you have to make an article about him with those bad stats ?
