Chelsea have been put on red alert after transfer target Marquinhos fired warning shots to Paris Saint-Germain over his lack of playing time.
The reigning Premier League champions have been looking to strengthen their backline and failed in their attempts to sign John Stones at the start of the season.
Chelsea have also long been linked with Marquinhos and could turn their attentions to the highly-rated 21-year-old after the versatile defender revealed his frustrations over his lack of playing time.
“I must respect the decisions of the coach,” Marquinhos is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard after he was left out of the team that beat Wasquehal on Sunday
“There are six months to win titles and seek to hold. After, we will see what happens.”
Marquinhos has only started in seven league matches this season, but any team would inherit an extremely economical passer of the ball. In fact, only teammate Thiago Silva (94.2%) has a better pass completion rate than Marquinhos (93.8%).
