Everton make £4m move for Ipswich’s highest rated player
Everton are set to bid £4m for Ipswich Town centre-back Adam Webster in January, according to The Daily Mirror.
The Toffees are set to be one of the busiest teams in the January transfer market following their underwhelming first half of the season, with Ronald Koeman looking to strengthen all areas of the Everton squad.
Everton have already been linked with a move for Manchester United duo Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis, but Koeman also has his eye on Championship defender Webster, who has been a consistent performer in an inconsistent Ipswich side.
The 21-year-old only joined Ipswich from Portsmouth last summer in a deal worth £750,000 but has shown immense maturity in the Championship already this season, with Premier League football now beckoning.
Webster is currently Ipswich’s highest rated player in the Championship (7.51), while only Christophe Berra (4.4) averages more interceptions in the league for the Tractor Boys than Webster (3.5).
