Manchester City will look to fend off interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona to land Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, reports The Daily Mirror.
Gundogan, 25, has just over a year remaining on his current deal at Dortmund and has reportedly already rejected their new offer with the midfielder set to leave the club this summer.
The dominant midfielder has previously been linked with a host of teams across Europe, including Barcelona and Madrid, but City are hopeful of winning the race, with incoming manager Pep Guardiola the key.
The Dortmund No.8 has won possession in the midfield third more times than any other player in the Bundesliga this season (98).
