Big money-Chelsea flop open to Stamford Bridge departure
Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is open to leaving Chelsea, according to FootballTransfers.
Fernandez joined from Benfica last January and has become a mainstay in the Blues starting XI.
However, despite being at the club for just 12 months, the Argentine is reportedly considering leaving the west London side.
Chelsea have spent heavily over the last 18 months, but their spending hasn't match their ambition with the club currently sat in the bottom half of the Premier League table following Sunday's 4-2 defeat to Wolves.
Fernandez, though, is contracted to Chelsea until 2032, which could prove a sticking point should the 23-year-old push for a move away from Mauricio Pochettino's side.
Should Chelsea elect to sell, they'd look to recoup most, if not all of, the £107m they paid Benfica to secure his services last January.
The 2022 World Cup winner has struggled to live up to the billing during his time in west London and has returned a WhoScored rating of just 6.74 this season.
Head coach Pochettino is also under pressure to turn the club's fortunes around following a difficult start to life back in England.
