Serie A champions Juventus are considering an approach for Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, according to Italian publication Calciomercato.
The Germany international was an ineffective performer in Liverpool’s surprise 3-2 home loss to Swansea on Saturday and was withdrawn with 20 minutes still to play at Anfield.
Can has started 11 Premier League games for the Reds this season, though could lose his place in the starting XI once Sadio Mane returns from international duty with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations next month.
Juventus are keen to bring in a physically imposing midfielder after Paul Pogba’s sale last summer after failing in their attempts to bring Nemanja Matic to the J Stadium.
Despite the arrival of Tomas Rincon, Max Allegri is eager to strengthen in the middle of the park with Can emerging as a possible target for the Juventus head coach.
Liverpool remain interested in Mahmoud Dahoud and could use the sale of Can to finance a move for the Gadbach midfielder.
