Real Betis have announced they have completed a deal to sign Montpellier creator Riyad Boudebouz on a four-year deal until June 2021.
Boudebouz has established himself as one of the best creative players in Ligue 1 in the last few years and Betis have pulled of a coup to sign the Algeria international in a deal worth a reported €8.5m (£7.7m).
The 27-year-old is the sixth player to join Betis this summer in what has been a very ambitious transfer window for the club and Boudebouz has hailed the move as a great step in his career.
“It’s a great step for me to arrive to such an iconic club,” he told the club’s official website. “I already knew part of the club’s history. Also, Aissa Mandi and Jonas Martin told me about Real Betis. Because of my playing style, I wanted to play in Spain since I was little. For me, it’s a huge step to progress in this club.”
