Chelsea eye up Neves move

Chelsea are pondering a big-money move for FC Porto starlet Rúben Neves after the midfielder player a key role in the Portuguese side’s 2-1 win over the Blues in midweek.

Neves provided the assist for Maicon’s winner in the Champions League victory over the Blues, meaning Porto have taken four points from a possible six in the opening two matches of the competition this season.

The 18-year-old is a long standing target for Chelsea, with Barcelona and Real Madrid both credited with an interest in the teenager.

The Blues were supposedly put off by Neves’ release clause - believed to be £29m - but are now supposedly willing to meet that fee after a hugely effective showing on Tuesday night, according to the London Evening Standard.
