Bayern defender ruled out of international break

Bayern Munich have announced defender Jerome Boateng will not join up with the Germany national team after suffering knee and abductor problems against Hoffenheim on Saturday.

Boateng, 28, was forced off in Bayern’s 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim with eight minutes remaining and the Bundesliga giants have now confirmed he will not take part in the international break.

Germany are due to play San Marino in a World Cup qualifier before travelling to Italy to face their old rivals in a friendly in a weeks time.
