Real Madrid enter race for Manchester United target

Manchester United will face stiff competition from Real Madrid for Borussia Dortmund's star winger Jadon Sancho, reports The Daily Star.

United have been leading the way to sign the 20-year-old and are prepared to spend big to bring Sancho back to Manchester.

Dortmund will demand upwards of £100m for the England international, which United are willing to pay in order to bring the youngster to Old Trafford.

However, Real Madrid's reported interest in Sancho is likely to drive that asking price up and spark a bidding war, which plays into Dortmund's hands as they look to make a huge profit on the former Manchester City man.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in Sancho, but the Premier League pair are behind United and Real Madrid in the pecking order for the winger.

Sancho is enjoying a sensational season and is the only player to have registered double figures for both goals (14) and assists (15) in the Bundesliga this season.

His flying form out wide for Dortmund has yielded a WhoScored rating of 7.90, enough to make the Bundesliga team of the season so far.
