Chelsea and United need to spend big for striker

Leicester City will slap a £30m price tag on star striker Jamie Vardy's head to ward off interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, reports the Telegraph.

Vardy has been in stunning form for the Foxes, netting more goals (13) than any other Premier League player this season, contributing to a WhoScored rating of 7.90, the second best in the league.

His exploits for his club has raised eyebrows across the continent, with Real Madrid and Barcelona credited with an interest in the 28-year-old.

Chelsea and United are both keen on strengthening their respective attacks in January, but will need to spend big in order to convince Leicester to sell their prized asset.

The England international still has two-and-a-half years still to run on his contract, so Leicester are under no pressure to cash in.

Vardy will be hoping to make it 11 successive league matches that he has scored in against United on Saturday after matching Ruud van Nistelrooy's Premier League record against Newcastle last week.
