Juventus offer out of favour defender to help land Arsenal man
Juventus are considering offering out of favour centre-back Medhi Benatia to help sweeten the deal in their bid to sign Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey, reports Gazzetta hello Sport, via the Metro.
Juventus are keen on securing Ramsey’s services on a free transfer with reports suggesting that the Welshman will travel to Turin on Sunday to undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on a contract.
Ramsey is a free agent in the summer and Arsenal are prepared to accept that his time in London is over, with the Wales international opting against extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium.
The 28-year-old is set to become the club’s second highest paid star after Cristiano Ronaldo and would continue Juventus’ trend of signing top class talent on free transfers having previously landed Emre Can, Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba for nothing.
And the Old Lady could look to include Benatia in any deal for Ramsey.
Gunners boss Unai Emery is eager to secure a new centre-back and reports earlier this week suggest that Arsenal have already made an approach for the Moroccan.
Benatia is out of favour in Turin having made just five league appearances for the Serie A leaders this season following Leonardo Bonucci’s return to the Juventus Stadium last summer.
