England left-back emerges as top Manchester United target
Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell has emerged as a top summer target for Manchester United after Manchester City dropped their interest in the England international, reports The Metro.
Chilwell is one of the most sought after defenders in England at present, with Chelsea also keen on the youngster.
However, the Blues would face competition from United for the 23-year-old as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seeks to improve his side's left flank.
The emergence of Brandon Williams is unlikely to have changed Solskjaer's mind, with the United boss in the market for a new left-back following Ashley Young's exit to Inter.
Williams' lack of senior experience is cause for concern for the United manager and he is looking to add Chilwell to the ranks.
City boss Pep Guardiola had been monitoring Chilwell, but has been put off by the huge asking price by Leicester for one of their star performers with te Spaniard able to call upon Benjamin Mendy, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Angelino at left-back.
Luke Shaw, who has been linked with a move to Leicester in recent weeks, is another option for Solskjaer, though injury has restricted the former Southampton defender to just nine league starts this season.
